Faravelli Cosmetic Division announces a new collaboration with Swedish Algae Factory, a Swedish company specialized in the development of innovative materials derived from microalgae. Founded in 2016 with the aim of translating the natural potential of algae into advanced industrial applications, Swedish Algae Factory stands out for its combination of scientific research, engineering, and sustainable entrepreneurship.
Originating from a university project, production now takes place in a state-of-the-art facility in Kungshamn, on the west coast of Sweden. Here, algae grow under controlled conditions within a low-impact production cycle. The company reintegrates elements such as carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and phosphorus back into the value chain, achieving a tangible and positive environmental impact.
The result is Algica®, a multifunctional ingredient derived from diatom shells—unicellular microalgae with unique properties—perfectly aligned with the values of clean beauty and responsible innovation.
Thanks to this partnership, Faravelli Cosmetic Division distributes Algica® exclusively for the Italian market, offering its customers an ingredient that combines performance, sustainability, and innovation.
Stay tuned to discover in upcoming updates all the technical features of Algica® and its potential applications in cosmetic formulations.
