Vitasource™, an active ingredient developed by Provital and distributed exclusively by Faravelli Cosmetic Division in the Italian market, is a well-established ingredient within our portfolio of functional cosmetic raw materials.
It is a naturally derived active, containing a purified fraction obtained from the roots of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi, a perennial plant traditionally used in Asian medicine, standardized in baicalin.
The ingredient is designed to slow down cellular senescence and promote the restoration of a younger genetic profile in epidermal cells. The efficacy of Vitasource™ is based on its action on telomeres, key elements involved in the regulation of cellular aging.
Vitasource™ acts at the epigenetic level, improving genomic stability and promoting cellular proliferation. In vitro tests have shown a significant reduction in markers associated with senescence, suggesting a biological rejuvenation of skin cells by up to 10 years.
In vivo data, collected from 20 volunteers over a 56-day topical application study, demonstrated:
- +10.9% improvement in skin firmness
- +12.5% increase in skin elasticity
These results confirm the ability of Vitasource™ to visibly improve the condition of mature or stressed skin, contributing to skin renewal.
